vintage maple secretary

Hi. I have an antique secretary, which belonged to my parents. After I moved, the key was no longer with the unit. Is there someone, anyone, who could direct me on how to get this thing open. as I look inside the keyhole, there is a round metal piece. If someone knows how I can get this open, i would appreciate it. I have tried about 30 keys, but no success. thank you. Hoping someone can help. i do have pics.....P.S. Locksmith wants $150.00 just to show up at my door.

You have to post pics or nobody can help you, a close-up around the keyhole would be nice too

I looked at the instructions on how to do that, and it looks like a process and a half. will try it again.

If you came in my shop I would let you try one of these National keys, they fit about 90% of these old style locks
