5 lever mortice locks

Any good suggestions on what locks to buy to practice my curtain pick on,as my local council are all into upvc cylinder mila locks so the call for replacing mortice locks are gone right out of the window in my area,but that doesnt mean i wont come across them in the private sector.

start with simple union 2101 / 2201 locks and a yellow legge or 2, once you get these move on to union 2134 / 2234, yale and chubb 3U114 BS3621 locks, they are all the same lock type, throw in an era invincible, but you wont get those with a No 7 lever in them.
from there move on to any old lock you pick up and try.

Thanks pinky,i can go out to citysafe which is just 30min drive away and buy some of them,and start practicing,and practicing.
Also just wondering CONTRACTER locks plain grey casing 5lvr,are these also good for practice?

any lock is good for practice, the more different types the better.

doesn't an era invincible have a curtain? i'm new to this so it's a genuine question. i also thought it was near on impossible to pick a curtain with a 2 in one rimmer. is that true?

Yes an Invincible does have a curtain and we're not talking about 2-in-1 picks, we're talking about curtain wheel picks which, funnily enough, pick locks with curtains!

i think you will find that the contractor lock is a legge non bs 1645,just saying so you dont buy both as they are the same lock

adam , the curtain wheel pick is the 2 in 1 pick for curtain locks, you will find alot of posts on the picks on the forum, in addition the 2 that seem to come out tops are the chris belcher picks and the safeventures picks, the more i use chris belchers pick the more i like it.

if good enough all curtain locks are pickable with just 2 wires, though this takes mega practice and study of locks.
