I was wondering what I might use that is .050" thick to make tension wrenches? I immediately thought of steak knives--those can be found at any thrift store. Any ideas or suggestions?

Tines from grass rakes. electrician's fish tape.

You can bend a wire hanger in the shape of the tension tool you want & then hammer the end(s) until they are wide enough for your keyway
