Distributor ripping off the clients

I recently noticed that many of my distributor's prices are crazy high--I paid $12 apiece for scar plates at the distributor then found Foley Belsaw selling them for only $4 apiece

Distributor charged me over $11 for schlage F-series top hat tumbler springs,
Foley-Belsaw is only charging $4 for the same thing

I have seen that with a couple of distributors as well. Banner sells the adaptor for the Abus KIK padlocks for $4 each. American Key Supply had a listing for a 12 pack for $14.95, so I bought it. When it arrived, it was a single adaptor. For 11 bucks more.

Which distributors are you seeing it with?

Mainly with Banner,
now that they've bought out HL Flake & ruined the website some of the prices are going crazy high

I have seen a large rise in picking and packing errors from Banner. About a third of my orders from them recently (since they took over HLF) have had errors. Some in my favor, some in theirs.

The only plus is that HLF's website was slow as can be. But at least most parts had pics so you could be sure of correct parts if you didn't know the exact part number.

Same here, my last two orders from Banner included incorrect items-- for example when I ordered scar plates they sent me adaptor plates. When I called to let them know, they let me keep the wrong parts at no charge. I have seen this many times in the past from distributors trying to save money on their warehouse employees.

Banner is consistently the lowest cost for 90% of products I buy. I match them against Security to double-check. I will say I once ordered 12 Kaba adapter plates as my other distributors were out of stock. I received 12 boxes of Kaba adapter plates.

There is no denying that Banner must have some of the lowest paid/most ignorant employees in the stockroom.

Employee (who worked in a telephone central office) needed a box of paper clips. Stock list indicated unit of issue was 'each' so he ordered 1000 and received 1000 boxes of paper clips. So Banner is not the only place with ignorant stockroom employees.

It's true, last time I needed ASSA keys, I ordered 20 & received a box of 50 for the price of 20--Good times!
