Major T42x

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Hi,
I just found this safe in my house (which I have owned for 30 years...). Not sure what the model number is, it starts with T42, could be 425, 423 or 428?
I have asked a quote from the local locksmith but it sure would be fun to pick it, but I have never done this. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

T425... That is the smallest unit they made as I recall. The variable was the depth of the tube and if it had multiple doors. As far as learning to manipulate, this safe is very forgiving.

Just out of curiosity, can give us a broader pic, of the whole unit?

Sammy is correct. The 7” door is common to the T425, T625 and T925. Only difference was the length of the tube. Some had double doors and drop slots. I am rather fond of this Major door.

Yours is the middle safe in the picture.

Does the dial move freely?

Calling or taking it to a locksmith who can then call Amsec might come up with the original combo. Just hoping the safe had never been changed after purchase. Many never have been changed.
Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool. Wisdom is not just in determining how to do something, but also includes determining whether it should be done at all.
