Just another idea to carry your picks

A couple of days ago I found an old wood carving tool in drawer. You cannot imagine my pleasure when I unscrewed it and discovered some replacement blades inside. Of course I was not interested in carving wood but how to use it as a pick set.



The red handle was almost massive Aluminium. "Almost massive" means that the manufacturer bored an 8mm hole about 20mm deep on both sides. I took the freedom to extend one side to a depth of 40mm also using an 8mm drill (quite easy with Aluminium) and put my wrenches inside.



Now look what's inside: 4 different wrenches and 3 picks (or whatever you want).
The picks are mounted by tightening the screw, but I've also added some notches to the picks so they can't move when picking.

Only 25 Grams, it's made of Aluminium.
Feedback can't be as well as a real pick of course, but it is really okay. I took care when making the picks and the notches help a lot.
It has a diameter of 13mm, but with the size of my hands it's just like a big pen to me.

i couldn't find a similar model tha was under $20 so i got a proedge #1 hobby knife, which has an excelent blade grip, no storage capabilities but have excellent feedback.



well even though it can't store picks it is an excellent handle for an interchangeable pick

sweet stuff there mate, but i can tell you that some screw drivers work like that, maybe i should try it.

I think screwdrivers are much too big (at least the ones I've seen).
The tool should be slim enough to handle it like a pick. Even this "Mini Martor tool" could be a problem for persons with an average size of hands (I've got XXL sausages, so it's okay for me).
But to be honest: It sometimes really could be slimmer. However, I can live with it because of the "inner values"

Skold's cutting knife seems to be the perfect size, although I don't see the advantage when I cannot put anything inside.

This would be a good choice for a Crush Resistant case to store your picks in.

as you can see it's a Slender Hard Eyeglass case that has a Button snap
this way you dont risk Bending your tools.
