KIK Cylinder Identification

Postby GWiens2001 » 3 Jul 2022 17:08

Just for fun, let's see how many of you can identify the four KIK cylinders in these pictures. Post your answers as replies. No prizes or anything. Was bored and grabbed these and took the pic. Will confirm answers when I get time. If any are not guessed in a week or so, will post them. Have fun!

If you have different or unusual KIK cylinders, post them!

1) Something from frankenstein
2) Sargent lever/padlock
3) U-change
4) Corbin master ring, 59/60 series keyway

We have a winner!

The "frankenstein" lock was made by Farmerfreak years ago. He told me he was bored and made it.

The Sargent is what we could consider an "normal size" KIK cylinder. The U-Change KIK cylinder is a huge cylinder (I have the full lever handleset for it). The plug is 3/4" (19 mm) in diameter, so it is huge. And the Corbin is indeed a Master Ring KIK cylinder.

For bonus points, what keying system is that Sargent? (Jeff is barred from answering because he sent me the KIK in the first place). Hint - you can tell by looking at the shell, not the plug. The angle of the pics shows what makes identification possible.
