identifying key

Postby zivi123 » 16 Feb 2023 8:10

hi guys!

i need help identifying this type of key/lock
it came off a royal enfield motorcycle, it looks to be the same as old ford car keys?
i tried picking it using a peterson hook but without success, the lishi hu101 looks like it could work?

is there some type of database that i can compare keys to in order to help identify what type of key i have in front of me?
Image

thank you and all the best

Sorry for a late reply.
I googled "royal enfield key blank", found out it is a Minda-Huf lock.
A blank used for KTM-bikes looks like your key. Silca KTM1P, JMA KM-1P.
HU101 is a different blank with different cuts.

thank you @wizer !
i guess i should have thought of googling that : D
so it looks like ill have to find a different lishi tool, one made for ktm that is...

thank you sammy
thats an incredible key database even though they dont have royal enfield listed, ill definitely be using that chart in the future

i guess the next step will be figuring out how to clone and read chips but that will take some time i believe!

take care!
