Yale / Victor L2 Lock Models

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Does anyone have an idea if Yale made different versions of the L2 lock?

I have seen two different versions of the lock - the main difference I noticed was the width of the bolt. My issue is that I have a cover with a wide “protrusion” but my case has the narrow bolt.

Unrelated I need the shims that go between the wheels if anyone has extras.

I can find:
  • caseless locks (cast iron fire safes, jeweler's chests)
  • Yale L-1: cased locks with narrow bolts connected to the bolt work (cast iron fire safes)
  • Yale L-2: cased locks with narrow dead bolts (cast iron fire safes)
  • Yale L-2: cased locks with wide dead bolts (jeweler's chests)
