American Lock Bypass tools

Postby Hollywood » 7 Dec 2004 20:50

hey all,
Does anyone here have the american lock bypass tools?

I'm looking to add to my collection

and I've noticed that Peterson carries one AD-B http://www.peterson-international.com/by-pass-tools.htm

and lockpicks.com also carries one (well 2) as-well

http://www.lockpicks.com/index.asp?Page ... tegory=245

so I'm looking to find out which may be the better one!!!

I'm also going to pick up the I-Core set ,Mini Knife, and a set of rubber handle picks from Peterson

so if I can get some feedback I'd appreciated it.

You will notice that Peterson also has the wafer breaker set near the bottom of that page.

I have the four knife tools, and now the wafer breaker and I would recomend getting all of them if you are interested in being complete.

If you're crazy enough, or rich enough, the Government Elite Series III Stainless Steel Set is an excellent choice. The only extra thing you would need to buy would be the wafer breaker set.

Good luck,

** Shakes Head**

This hobby can get a Lil expensive!!! lol

I haven't figured it out yet "Romstar"
I don't know if your a good Influence or a bad one for me and my pockets.:)

I was really looking hard at the entire set 4 tools and well you know I Now must acquire them!!

Will that set fit Nicely in a case along with the I-Core set and the complete rubber handle set?

I am really aiming for a nice complete set of tools
I'm in the Commercial construction trade and I do ALOT of Demo work and Tenant build-outs so I come across sooo many different types of locks Yale, medeco etc... Doors hardware and I'm sure you get the Picture

what I'd like to do is make a training door with several different styles of locks and levers so I can practice on rather then fumbling around with them on my lap or table.
a majority of them I have the keys for but there are times when the tenants do get evicted and trash the offices and we come in and remodel them and usually all the hardware "Locks" get thrown out so I salvage them to practice on.

I'm a terrible influence on your pocket book, and a good one on your skills. What can I say? If I was any other way, it just wouldn't be me.

Now, about that case. It would depend on what case you were looking at. I think that you can build things up slowly to avoid going broke. Unless you like bright shiny new toys.

Anyway, I like your door idea. I did something similar a long time ago myself.

Tell me what you are thinking of getting.

Alright, I found everything but AM 100. What is that?

Sorry, but it's 5:00 am, and I just spent 3 hours on the road in an ice storm. I'm kinda wiped.

Funny thing Hollywood, I just ordered about the same thing from the same company minus the Dames. They are awesome. Do it, you won't regret it.

I was hoping to package them all in one of these

http://www.peterson-international.com/p ... htm#bifold

But I'm not Familiar with the items or the case itself. wasn't sure about the Lenght of the tools in comparison to the case.

Thanks for the feedback SFGOON

I do believe those tools will fit the bifold case.

It would seem that the majority of Peterson's tools are about the same length.

Take a good look at the Elite series that has the bypass tools beside the picks. The cases appear to be of the same size.

Would you happen to know if the Elite Series Picks happen to be the Rubber handled ones?

I believe all the Elite series are in fact rubber handled tools. I am sure if you e-mail them they will tell you.
