Need override code Aanon safe 1070E

Postby Periwinkles » 12 Sep 2017 18:53

I recently purchased a house with a safe that
I am unable to open.
The safe is an Aanon safetron safe model # 1070E.
The serial# is 13522.
The person that lived in the house is now deceased,.
I spoke to his daughter and she said that
he never used the safe.
I phoned the locksmith that installed the safe,
( business sticker on safe). He remembered the house,
and safe. He said The company went out of business years ago.
He no longer retained information regarding this company.
I have researched online, and learned that
there is an override code associated with the serial number.
Do you still have this information for this particular safe.
Thank you

Several years ago members replied to a message about opening a small Aanon safe with the digital keypad.
I have the exact same safe …..but mine is open.
Even with it open …..I’m leery of putting valuables in side without a backup option to open it just in case.
I downloaded the owners manual and it says to contact a dealer to request the override code unique to each and every Aanon safe based on its serial number.
There are no dealers to contact anymore.

I need the override code !!!

Is there a “ universal “ override code ?????
I can provide pictured and my serial # if needed.
Thx

I know I always wonder when a new person is desperate enough to post the same message in three different places on the same day-- If I had the override code I would make sure not to give it to ya

Assuming you have the AANON Safetron Model 1079-E, then unfortunately there is no universal code, and if there was, I doubt they would make it publicly available to hobby lock pickers and safe crackers like us.

If your door is open and you have access to the board inside, the override code may be written there, or there may be some kind of reset button or other way of programming it. If it is hard coded at the factory and derived from the serial number of each individual safe, we would have to figure out that algorithm or formula, but that would require having a couple safes with known serial numbers and known 6 digit override codes. Since these things are from the 80's the people who may have known this info are either long gone or the documents they kept are gone. As you have found there is no dealer or distributor network in place.

I think as long as you use fresh batteries and test the safe several times before you shut the door, it should be ok to use without fear of it failing. The most common failure is the owner forgetting the combination.

If you want to post a photo of the circuit board inside the door we can try to glean some info from it. If you unscrew the board from the door, there may be something behind it, but that may just wishful thinking that the factory printer the override code in plain sight.

Thank you for your comments.

Sorry for posting my question in several location on this forum. I didn’t know if it was posting.

Here are pics of the safe OPEN. And the electronic lock functions.
Please note my iPhone date stamp at the top of the pics.
More verification can be offered if needed.

If this is satisfactory, we can continue. ( I understand your cautions in giving out info ).

My next step in the next week will be to remove the inside back door cover and see if there’s any more info. I have this safe in a storage unit so I need to go visit it. If there is any more info you can provide now to help me before I visit the safe that would be appreciated.

It’s a bit scary to lock valuables in a safe without a backup plan…..short of cutting it open.
I have a Fort Knox safe in my garage WITH a factory backup plan using the serial number.
My ISM TRTL 30x6 has NO backup plan to speak up short of drilling.

*****Amazing 1 in a million fact. *****
I got this safe from a friend for free ( it was empty ) It was locked and he had forgotten the code. That’s why he gave it to me. I spent about 1 hour trying every combination I could think of.
1234, 0000, 1111, 9999, 1359, 2468, 1122, 1010, 0101……

And then…….click !!!!? It opened !!!! MY JAW HIT THE FLOOR !!!!!

There is a very small sliding panel on the inside door panel that reveals 4 rotating numbers used to set the combo.

I’ve reset the code right now to 0000. ( I can remember that )
Thanks

Thanks for the help guys.
Back panel off. Needed information was found. I learned the over-ride code procedure for these safes….and I’m set.
At least now I have 2 options for entry.

Thank you for those nice photos! What was the over-ride code procedure? Thank you for sharing with us.

Was the over-ride code hard-coded into the board by means of components or bridges soldered to these 4 sets of 16 pads?

Image

It also looks like they could have made the safe's combination have 6 of those combinations setting dials instead of just 4.

Did you ever get an answer? Was the code on the motherboard?

Mind share how you did it? I have the exact same model, with the door open. Don't know how to reset the code.
Appreciate it your help.

You see those pads on the PC board? there are 4 sets of 4x4 solder pads? I think they correspond to the factory over ride code.

0000 00XX 00XX 0000
XXXX 0000 XX00 0000
XXXX 0000 0000 XX00
0000 0000 0000 00XX

I think the reset code is hard coded into how those pads are soldered. Could you please post a photo of your board so we can compare against the one the OP posted last year?

Thank you,

I have inherited one of these exact same Aanon 107E units. I understand that the valuables were all removed a long time ago, but it would be a good little box for me to use if I had some way to get it open and take it home. One more thing, the keyboard is dead. The little red light does not come on when I insert the battery tray and plug it in. I am looking at the battery tray and it might need to be replaced. Are these 4 AA trays putting out 6V for powering it? I could get a new battery tray and try hooking that up to the wires. Also, I would like to know if there might be any alternatives to just cutting it open if I cannot get the keypad to light up, although I don't have the secret code, I could make some intelligent guesses based on what I know from some of the other information I have about my uncle. If nothing else, I need to be able to get inside of it to unbolt it from the floor of the bathroom closet where it is sitting right out there in the open air taking up space that could be used for something else when we sell the house. The serial number is on the front, [image][/image]although I hesitate to post that in public.
