I was wondering if there is somewhere I can look to identify a S&G lock and approximate it's age? I have contacted them and they don't retain records for obsoleted locks. This is not a special safe, I only want to get an idea of its age.

There are serial number dating lists for very few companies, e.g. Mosler. Newer S&Gs have date stamped in the case. Usually it is a rough estimation of the age according to the model and style. Of course not without photos.
