I was recently called upon to help the owner of an old Mosler safe find the combination. Fortunately, the safe was locked .... but in the door open position.
Finding the combination, as well as the reset index, was obviously trivial and the interior of the lock was in great shape for the age, and the dial turns smoothly. Opeing was R-L-R-L instead of the L-R-L-R you more commonly see on 3 wheel locks today. So far, so good.
There is no model number on the lock itself, and I am trying to determine what combination change key is uses.
The safe info is Mosler Serial 1064 3-14 Item 276 Year 1971
I'm new to the forum and noticed the ban on URLs in the rules, so I'm not linking to photos. Is there a way add photos to this post that complies with forum rules?

You can link photos using URLs. Rule #4 is for URLs in signatures and profile pages, not posts.

You can certainly post links to photos here, here are the instructions: http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic ... 10#p445410Which rule was it that you saw, I will be happy to edit it. Thank you, Squelchtone

I took this to imply links to URLs were not welcome:
4. Signing your name is allowed, however URL dropping in signatures is disallowed and will be removed. Your profile (page) can contain a URL however it may not be referred to. (The only exception to this rule is for moderators, administrators, and approved lp101 commercial site sponsor(s))

It is only for signatures (automagically copied at the end of a posting) and profiles (personal info about you). The message text of a posting can contain links.

I will revise that rule for clarity, but it was to stop self promotion like this example: Nice lock, thanks for posting. Joe for Boston Https://www.joeslockshop.com/services
