Before you get too far down the road on this project, we'd be remiss if we didn't point this out: Assuming that pic you posted, along with the bitting code and measurements, are for your actual front door key, that information is now public on the internet for all to see. Anyone with the right tools and a bit of know-how can now produce as many copies of that key as they like. If your address ever becomes known, that basically means anyone on the internet can cut themselves a copy of your house key.

If that doesn't bother you, then that's fine. If it does, you may wish to consider rekeying your entire house (including the new lock) onto a new key... We can give you some pointers there as well, but obviously this time around without posting the specific codes used.

Glass is designed for visibility, not security. If you want security, installing metal bars behind them would make breaking and entering more costly and difficult. They are typically used at retail establishments with high rates of burglary and theft.

I have surveillance cameras. I don't trust the lock, window or door. In fact, cars are stolen much more often than houses are broken into; in our city, car thefts have been stable in 2024, with an average of 22 cars stolen every day.

Today it takes thieves about 30 seconds to steal a car. In our city alone, more than 8,000 car thefts were registered in 2022. This number is up from approximately 5,600 stolen vehicles in 2021 and 12,200 stolen vehicles in 2023.

I find the auto theft laughable-- My company stopped making keys for cars to avoid the prices of transponder equipment & update costs, yet auto theft is still going strong

1) How can I remove the cylinder if I do not have the original key for this lock mechanism?

You'll need to get something to shim the plug from the back, some people have taken apart those Sensormatic anti theft tags they stick on products at the store and they take out the thin strip of aluminum to use as a shim. the tricky part is lifting the key pins inside from the back to the front in order to create the shearline between the key pins and top pins for the shim to slip into. You'll need a blank SC1 key to help, and a wooden dowel to act as a plug follower so the top pins and springs dont go shooting everywhere when you remove the plug.

or again, per my last post, I send you the pins and I'll throw in a shim.

and made some shims from 0.1 mm steel tape:



Also, I managed to get the HomeKit setup code on Level Lock +, as printed on my lock's motor:



And I installed the Level App on my phone.
