Not consistent picking locks

Postby graggy » 7 May 2024 12:20

I’m new to picking locks . I’m picking a couple master locks number 3 but some days I can pick them pretty easily and other days I can’t pick them. I’m talking about the same couple of locks not all different ones. I’m using a rake sometimes and just a single pin pick other times. I don’t know what I’m doing that makes me able to pick them easy some days and not others. Any advice?

Verbalize the key pins' states with every hook movement, similar to the LockPickingLawyer. As your accuracy of awareness improves, it will become a cognitive process.

It's not unusual, still happens to me sometimes. It seems to be more common with cheaper locks with poor tolerances.
