Recomendations for door Viewers

Hello everyone!

Could you please share some recommendation for high-security door viewers a.k.a. peepholes? For regular mechanical ones, and maybe for electronic ones too.

Any out-of-reach closed-circuit television camera.

I live in Eastern Europe and own an apartment in a relatively new multi-story building.

I’m quite happy with my door, even though it’s not particularly strong. However, since the building is modern and has a contemporary interior, forcing the door open would be highly noticeable to my neighbors due to the damage left behind. Additionally, I have a good understanding of locks and have installed high-quality ones to prevent silent break-in attempts.

Maybe I'll install a high-quality door in the future, but for now, I don't have the budget for it, and there are no valuable items inside the apartment.

That said, the current door viewer installed by the developer is extremely weak—it can be unscrewed in just 10 seconds. After that, an attacker could insert tools through the hole to manipulate the lock from the inside. Alternatively, they could pour toxic liquids or paint through the opening, and see what's going on inside and who is there.

My main concern is securing the door viewer, as it is currently the weakest point. As for surveillance cameras or electronic peepholes, I don't have the time or resources to constantly monitor recordings. My priority is simply to reinforce the door's security. Additionally, there are periods of up to five months when no one lives in the apartment, which adds another layer of concern.

I have already experienced cases where unknown individuals have cut my electricity cables, which makes electronic peepholes less viable. While they might deter attackers, I don’t want to connect them to the network or electricity. I also want to ensure that I can still see through the peephole when someone knocks without revealing whether I'm inside or if the apartment is empty.

Currently, most door viewers available on the market seem cheap and easy to unscrew.

Ideally, I would like a peephole that offers at least a 200-degree field of view (or more) so I can see all angles, including the walls outside.

I've been using Wyze cameras for a few months, when they work they're pretty great
I had to replace out the first 3 or 4 I bought but they do seem to be improving, at least
now the model numbers are getting bigger. They have an app (don't they all?) that let's you
look into the past and is in the cloud, so you can't lose the records as long as the cameras are
functioning and recorded the event.

This V4 model is what I'm currently using

Alternately you could dip your peephole in threadlocker and reassemble it in the door--
