Major brand round floor safe

Forgot how to dial the combination on that old safe? Think you got the right numbers but the handle is stuck? What safe should you buy? Ask your safe questions here!

Martin/All Thanks to everyone for their input. I will give Martin's instructions a go here in the next week or so when I have a break in work. Cheers, Kevin

Hi, I am looking for some help removing a dial on a Major brand round floor safe, Major Safe Model 0625. The safe has been sitting for several years and when inputing the combination the dial gets tight when turning left or right. I have had No sucess opening safe, I have confirmed the combination is correct. I would like to remove the dial and try using some WD40 or pentration oil to see if that loosens up the dial. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you

I am NOT having any success on removing dial with a small pry tool. The dial sits inside a lip for the dial to turn and having issues getting the pry tool UNDER the dial. If any body has any suggestions or questions, I would much appreciate the help.
Thank you

Some dials can be remove by a slide hammer with an attachment, that grips the dial from the front. Other dials can be removed by drilling a hole in the center, tap that hole and then put a screw into this hole and tighten it to force of the dial. I can't say what the best or a good method with the Major is.

Some Major floor safes have a plastic dial.
Why are you removing the dial?
