I got some keys from ebay and I was wondering what these keys are, (used for, when they were made, ect).

They read on the front of the key:

"Made in USA"
"Star"
"OBR13S"

Back of the key:
"For LockSmiths Only"
"Do Not Duplicate"
# <------ Number of the key. I got the whole set
1-50

These are them...

Why would you buy so many cut keys if you don't know what they're for?

That looks like many different types of keys. Pin tumbler keys, warded keys, disc tumbler keys, etc.

i just had a stroke of genius, those could be gm tryout keys. i saw some ford 10-cut tryout keys, and there was roughly 50, so perhaps thats what this is too?

Yes that is definitely a buttload of keys. The close ups you sent look like they've been cut funny and are, as has been noted, likely tryout keys. Either way, what a weird purchase. What did it cost you?
