ah
often mistaken for the old black legge due to the oval cut out, instead of legges arch.
differs due to bolt and lever pack being one complete unit, a fixed pack and bolt, stump is attached to case and not to bolt, and most were plastic in early models.

bloody horrible bit of kit

the reason its mistaken for legge, they shine torch in see the arch top, without checking bottom of keyway.

its a nasty bit of work, i once came to grief on it on right, if you drill and catch the plastic stump, it bends all over, bugger to open now.

caught many a good locky out, but lock god al i imagine averages 1 min for it, ive seen him pick bs in under a minute.

i thought it was on it, if not it will be on update.

Pinky i wasnt mistaken as to what it was ,i didnt have a bloody clue what it was! I have no doubt mr m picked it it minutes but i was getting nowhere and thought the drill was the best bet(shit that drill words put me down in a few peoples estimations now eh?!)
I wouldnt want to rekey one of these buggers either would you?

we have all drilled the bugger and all come to grief, though now you know the lock wont be a problem again.
the model with plastic stump, use a pencil blow torch and melt stump, open, though ive never tried it.

as to a rekey , no i really wouldnt want to, though you can get the packs, and i have heard tails on warrants of carrying spare packs with filed gates, you know the thing , 1 key fits all.

fortunately in last 3 years ive only come up against 4 of them, 1 in northampton and 3 in sheffield.

well whole bolt and lever pack units, yup used to , some may still stock them.

carry one made up for 1 key fits all, for nasty warrants.

There is a raised vertical line at the top of the thrower if you look carefully. The keyway is slightly shorter than a Legge so a well made test key would alert you from the right.

Be very careful when taking the cap off, if you don't get it back right, the sprung retainer for the thrower can come out of place. It won't do this until you have relocked the door but then won't turn to zero.
Imagine you've picked it open great but then take it apart to half shoot for a quick exit, screwdriver in curtain to lock door no problem. Nightmare, the thrower will not zero and the door is locked. You can't walk away because the key won't go in - neither will your pick. Now you have to pick it again but just with loose wires. I recommend picking these closed they're not too bad. - This has happened to me twice and on the second occasion I was very careful when replacing the cap. A couple of my lads have suffered the same fate too.

When picking open you nudge the levers up and the bolt moves back several mm, then carefully adjust the lever position until it's open. You normally get less feel after the bolt has moved.

Not seen the plastic stump only metal but then, I've not taken one apart for a while.
