Check MPXS-14 and PXS-14 and you'll see why is that.

I own a set of PXS-14 and they work pretty good. They have vinyl handles which can be swapped between picks instead of reinforced metal ones. I've found that the handle does have a tendency to bend slightly, but they provide a comfortable grip nonetheless.

What do you like so much about SouthOrd ??? In my opinion it`s better to spend al little bit more money for a better quality pickset such as HPC or Majestic.

I`m not saying that SO is a poor quality company, but there are better alternatives.

They are perfectly good picks that can last a long time, they have a wide variety of picks to choose from, they're decently cheap (cost), they have good on-time delivery service... They're just all-round good picks
Of course, there are other places that sell better picks, but they cost a lot more and you usually have to be a locksmith (or the like) to order from them.

I"ll echo tsleddens comments on South Ord.I use picks on a daily basis.
HPC makes quality pics at reasonable prices. I've used some of South Ords products and their machining is quite rough...

My own personal feelings are that if (like me) you are crap at making your own tools it may be better to get a purpose built kit to start with

I don't own and never have owned SouthOrd stuff but if you need a starter set a small SouthOrd kit would be better than some of the C**p I've seen advertised elsewhere

SouthOrd picks are great as a beginners pickset. Also because of the low price.
If i use southord (i stopped using them) i can`t communicate well with the lock, it doesn`t give me a good feeling. That`s the reason that I don`t like them very much.

btw, there are a lot of online shops that sells you other tools then southord, even if you`re not a locksmith.

Just got my shipment from South Ord. I purchased a few tension wrenches and one of the metal-handled jack knives. I have to say I was quite happy w/ the quality of everything in the order. If you don't want to spend $37 on the jack knife you can buy a blemished one ( $24. I think) I did and I love the portability of it! I use HPC at work and they have yet to let me down but I won't hesitate to buy South Ord either. I will have to try out their picks sometime. The stainless steel wrenches they make are great! I like a stiffer wrench because of the feed back. If you like the thinner wrenches you may want to look elsewhere.
