http://www.geocities.com/towch2/8500.zip <-compressed animated gif slideshow.
(The lever spring is released by pushing in on the dial and the cam pushes it off of it's catch. Make note of the S shaped wire attached to the lever that I took the close-ups of before trying to dream up a way to beat the manipulation proofing. It keeps the lever either all the way up or all the way down preventing contact with the cam unless the correct combination has been entered. If the fence is stopped by the wheel pack, the lever snaps back up almost instantly.)

I got this lock a month or two ago and was playing with it today and figured somebody would want to see one of these. Since it's just pictures of the lock I figured this could go in the open forums. If I figured wrong I apologize.

They're good. I have one on my safe - I'd like to see someone try and manipulate that open.

Spec can be found here :

Group 1S? I thought is was a Group 1R lock, or is there something I am misunderstanding.

I think I finally figured out the trick to these in the shower today. You take contact point measurements by parking the drive cam and feeling for the impact of the lever through the dial. If you felt the lever hit the cam at 14.2 when all three wheels are parked at 50, and you can feel it hit at 14 on 45, you know the lever has dropped lower. I'll give it a shot this thanksgiving when I'm back home.

Yes, it's something like that. If you have TAOM it's briefly mentioned towards the end how one would *attempt* to go about manipulating one.

You know there's only one gif file in that zip file, right?

It was supposed to be an animated gif will all the images but I can't get the link to work now anyway. I found this thread through a search and didn't realize I put the public forums originally. Not exactly appropriate!

Well, it was fine until manipulation techniques were discussed. Don't worry about it, a mod will move it as soon as they see it.

The pictures have already been cached by google so it's a win win move any way.

I didn't realize this thread was back from '04, I thought you'd just started it--no wonder that link doesn't work!
