Rockford, The hardplate off? This suggests a tight fit and no chisels which seems unbeleivable but hey if the last cowboy didnt have screws hes not gonna have chisels is he?!

It must have been a good 5" nail - due to the cut out for the lock being too deep, and having to go into the wood at the back of the lock. The install was a real mess. Can't wait to write this up for the management company !.

i know a training company that teaches this as there method of lock fitting, 2 big nails and some liquid nails to stick sides of lock to door.

Am i reading this right, they use nails and glue to hold the lock in the door ? I dont get why they do this as its easier to use the screws provided or if your having problems with those being too soft when using a drill to drive them in carry some good ones from screwfix instead.

The thing that gets me is that when i use a db morticer to cut in the lock body the fit is so nice and tight i couldnt find the room to get the glue in as well !!

Glue

What happens when you need to change the lock ?. It would be easier to replace the whole door than get the lock out !. Try and explain that to the customer !.
