What hand do you pick with?

Postby BarleyMob » 12 Jan 2005 1:27

I was just wondering if you guys can pick with both hands or do you pick with both hands? Im talking about the actual picking, and not the tension wrench.

I'm a begginner, and mostly use my left hand, but when I do try it with my right, it seems that I feel the pins a bit better.

If it's either both hands or both hands then ....um I guess both hands.

Predominately with pick in left hand, combinations with my right hand, sometime pick with right if placement of lock makes it easier.

I'm right handed but like to pick with either hand just incase I come up against a lock on the left in a tight corner.

It really depends how the lock is situated. If it is a deadbolt, then sometimes you have to position yourself that is the most comfortable and practical, which may mean that you gotta use your non-dominant hand. I think it is a good idea to get used to using both, like what D_Shane said.

Overall, I prefer using my right hand, because I am a righty.

it mainly depends on the way the lock turns. if it turns to the right i pick with my left and vice versa

does anybody have pictures of how to actually hold the pick? I hold it like a pencil and use my wrist for power, but only because I couldn't work out how to use my fingers for power

righty

Postby raimundo » 28 Jan 2005 13:09

I'm a commited righty, my left hand is completely uneducated. but it seems that the leftys all have some latent righty in them.
