Weird latch

I recently bought a lock off of e-bay and it has this weird latch (atleast that is what I think it is) and I would like to know if anyone knew how to remove it so it looks like a normal lock, see pictures below. Thank You.

What size is the lock ?, as it's hard to see from the pictures. It does look like a cam lock - the type fitted to filing cabinets, multi-drawers etc. Any chance of a photo from the rear ?.

The first pic is of the lock from the back, the front is a regular Russwin lock.

If that is a full size mortise cylinder,it most likely goes to an electrical cabinet or other utility cabinet.

If figured out that you have to remove a pin from the latch, after that all you have to do is pull or unscrew the pieces off.

I didn't think that a full sized mortise would be on a electrical cabinent. Mabey a Corbin cabinet lock but not a mortise.

I think it is a latch for a door on like a janitor's closet or something of little importance. It seems you mortice it into the door and the latch is what prevents the door from opening.

Yeah I paid money for it, and six other different kinds of locks.

Isn't it always?

No, sometimes the lock tail is connected to a device within the door and that device is what keeps the door shut. What I meant there was that the lock was connected to the latch itself.
