BIG lockpick sets

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Yes but if you look at section 1 word 5 it is a key word. As a newbie I cannot make a concrete judgement on that kind of thing so if you noticed I cleverly placed the word seem meaning one or both could have been wrong. So in actual fact I have not made a contridiction on myself against my original statement. :P lol

since I hate arguing I will just say that if it seems like it to you that they are useful after it seemed like they were not b4 then it is a controdiction lol.

Of the words of the John Cleese part in Argument Clinic skit in Monty Python's Flying Circus:
Oh no it isn't!

Well basically I did NOT controdict myself because I used the word seems meaning either could be fully correct. Drop the seems word and use probably is... work for you?

you are trying to take credit for saying the same as me when you stated an opinion of both magnatudes by stating a opinion thinking both ways even using the word seems (this actually contributes too my side of things) you make it a controdiction because it cant seem that they are both useful and useless it is impossible to seem both by using the word seem you are using it in the sense that means To give the impression of being. It can not give said impression because that impression when reffering to the statement where you said that you were saying the same as me would be a controdiction on a previous statement because as i said it can't give the impression of being both.

Pick Sets

Postby DrDave » 8 Oct 2003 16:02

The largest set I usually bought was the 62-HPC sets, although I like the 32-piece set and case.

I've seen the 100-Piece set, but remember most of the sets around prior to 2001 all had "duplicates" WITHOUT handles. They would put at least one or two duplicate tools without handles in all the large spring-steel sets.

The "non-handle" picks had two holes drilled into the handle, so when you wore-out or BROKE a pick, usually inside the lock, you could drill-out the rivets and re-rivet the new (duplicate) tool into the handle. All this was prior to South-Ord” who basically revolutionarized the Lockpick industry.

Now that one can buy EURO/Small-size picks as well as the old “Standbys” the 69-Piece set is on it’s way to me. That would be the largest set I’ve ever bought, the MPXS-62. Why they have a 69-piece set with a “62” in the part number still rather stumps me… But I’m waiting to receive.

If a good locksmith never needs a lot of picks, then I must be a superstar. I've got a pile, but only use between 5 and 7 different ones at the most....'cept when I do automotive.

I wouldn't know what to do with the Paramount pick set from HPC. I think I'd probably end up storing most of 'em. 'cept for the various tension wrenches and extractors of course. :D

Large pick sets

Most of the picks are repeats from what I've seen.
