This would be the third one of these I have dealt with today. I am tired of deleting them.
Would anyone else like to explain to this guy all the things he's done from the moment he decided to sing up for an account? I'm tired of doing it.
Thanks,
Romstar

Of course, why not
1. Firstly, you called yourself thief ( big no no )
2. You asked before searching.
3. You didn't even search at all.
4 You signed up.

Has it come to the point where we need to install a banner clearly displaying "THIS FORUM IS NOT OPEN TO THIEVES. THE MEMBERS HERE ARE POST FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF HOBBY LOCKPICKING. FOR FUN AND ENJOYMENT."
This forum is dedicated to those who pick locks for fun. Nothing more. People come here, see 'lockpicking' and automatically think that a bunch of people have gathered online to share their tales and tactics for theft. GO AWAY if you're here for that purpose. Lockpicking101 isn't about that.
But I'm also not a spokesman. Just a regular reader. But I don't think I'm that far off from thinking that this is what LP101 is about.
Maybe a mission statement is in order?

I long ago came to the conclusion that there would be those people who came to LP101 and read what we all had to say, and never bothered to create an account for themselves.
Then there are those people who read, yet never post.
I accepted the possibility that sooner or later some would probably try to use what they learned here for purposes other than those intended by myself, Mr. Picks or the other moderators. That being the use of lock picking techniques for illegal purposes.
I don't like the idea, I certainly don't condone it, and I constantly discourage such activities. I just accept that there will always be that segment of people.
I cannot, and will not be made into my brother's keeper. My brother's helper yes, but not his keeper. I can't make up anothers mind.
For heaven's sake though, have some common sense. Don't advertise your stupidity in a public forum. If the name is an honest faux pas, then I suggest selecting a new one and starting over. I just wish people would read a little first though when they sign up.

the only reason i picked"Thief," was because all the other names i wanted weren't available. I tried, picker, Church,Spartan, Chief, locksmith, Caboose, Garret, 117, Earthpickster, Reach, Covenant, and Splinter_Cell!!! I wasn't trying to be a ! And sorry if making an account was a mistake, seeing as i've posted a a guest so many times i was tired of it. But nooooooo. Seems you gotta be somthin special to register. And about not reading, I'm sorry if i couldn't find an answer to my question sumwhere else! It's my fault that most of the topics here don't imply what i asked? This seemed like the right place to ask, but no!

Your selection of screen name implies that you intend to use the information on this site to commit, I dunno, thievery? That doesn't go over very well with us, being associated with criminal acts. Most people here are pretty sensitive about it. My advice to you would be to change your screen name, "thief" will definitely hold you back here. Just ask the Former "Masterthief." That one whizzed a LOT of folks off. Think of it like this. Your Screen Name and posts are the only ways we know who you are and what you're about. How do you want to represent yourself? I realize I'm not one to talk with my selection of SN, but I've been using this handle for years, sometimes in a professional context. I had to work at it for a while before people got over the idea that I was some sort of goober. Spare yourself that and switch names. To answer your ORIGINAL question, try popping peterson picks into google. They are, in my humble opinion, the very best out there.

Good man. I don't think anyone was insulted and you've clearly got a good capacity to learn. Now did you check the peterson picks site?

You can't play too many stealthy video games, what're you talking about?

I thought Petersen only sold to people in the "trade". I've been itching to get a few tools from Petersen, but put it off because I'm not a "Lockie". This "Thief" chap, obviously isn't a locksmith, but SFGOON has suggested he check out their site and possibly get some picks from there. Wouldn't he have to lie in order to do that? Have some of our other members stretched the truth in order to get the things they need from Petersen-International?
I'd really like to get some of their picks, and an SFIC wrench too. I've got to quit being so honest all the time. Just one teeny little "white lie" could make it all happen. Oh well...I'll make do with the tools I have, I guess. The Southord tools I have are better than anything I could make. Sure would like that SFIC wrench though......
