Picked up a Master Lock 1547...for those not familiar with it, its nothing fancy, just a lock intended for bags and the like. But its weak in security.

Thats the lock itself.
It works on the same principle that Seaseme locks work off of, which is rotating discs.
By peering down the number disc key way, and rotating each one, you're able to see the green pack wheels that they're affixed to. Each pack wheel has a slot in it. Add 3 to each corresponding number of each disc, and boom: theres your combo.
So on my lock, the pack wheel grooves were set at 609.
Add three to each number:
6+3=9
0+3=3
9+3=2
The reason 9+3 comes out to two is because the numbered discs go through 0-9. There is no eleven. So you end up moving 3 spaces forward, bringing you to...2.
