Chubb mortice

Today i notice on an irrelevent door a chubb, it said chubb 5 lever BS 3621, On a closer look in the keyway at the curtain, as you do, i notice the keyway was square! I couldn't see why a conventional key wouldn't work.
I have never seen one of these before, I couldn't play with it to see what series it was!
Will someone enlighten me on this curtain, will Pin & cam still work? I never had access to the key, and first reaction on noticing this is that it had the wrong faceplate!

if a square curtain , its the restricted key section ( rks ) normaly a 114 bar the curtain

Can this lock still be cam'd, If not, im back in my workshop for a while!

pin and cam wont fit in the keyway , though you could make a new head for pin and cam, after all its simple to change over if you had the head.

I know of a small business estate near me that has a similar thing but with 110's . The keyway is modified and a normal blank wont fit. The curtain and the case is different to allow a restricted section. Inside the detainers etc are the same. I found out after i took one apart because a friend wanted to know if i could get the blanks for it. At the moment they have to send away for keys at £10 a go. The thing is they have so many of these fitted and everyone has to have access to various buildings so to replace them was far too much cost which they wouldnt pay, so they pay £10 a key. Are these a factory special you order from chubb ? Also the key blank was like nothing ive seen before, similar to a 110 blank but the modified curtain meant you couldnt even adapt a normal blank.

Is it not possible to just replace the curtain with a standard 110, and then use normal blanks. Granted this takes away the restricted section, but it also removes the restriction on key duplication. Just a thought....

Toomush sounds like 3g135 which you should be able to pick up from Duffels or Aldridge £86 ish retail

Has anybody put a blank to a grinder until it fit's for quick impressioning?

ive been buying the 3G135 on ebay at approx £7 each, they pop up quite regular

Impressioning a detainer locks would be hard anyway rick.

Toomush ,have you tried Duffell or Aldridge.Doubt theyll be cheap though
