Falle pronounciation

Postby samusugiru » 24 Jan 2005 21:56

Hi Team,

Does anyone know how to pronounce Falle properly ?
There were vague reports on one thread, but nothing definative.

is it FAAH yay (with the spanish double L sound)
or FAAL yay, FAAH Lay

or FAHL ?

I just want to make sure I use the correct terminology. What country is that name from?

Thanks for the help.

that thread has some info on it - in the defcon videos, barry the key pronounces it "fulluh"....

english people tend to pronounce it "fal"
I thought it was "Fail" because of his company name "falle safe security"
Oh look! it's 2016!

There is only one correct way to pronounce a person's name though, and that is the way the owner pronounces it.

Unfortunately, I don't know how John Falle or Channel Islanders in general pronounce Falle, but I suspect it is like "fall". That is what sounds most natural to British ears. It seems to be a local name, and not uncommon.

According to someone at MBA, it is "Fall" and not "Fail," even though if it were pronounced "Fail" it would have been a lot "neater." As someone pointed out above, "Fail-Safe/Falle-Safe." Rings very good and it was actually quite a surprise to me that it was not pronounced "Fail."

falle

Actually i dont care how the name is spelt or pronounced as long as he keeps making picks im happy. THE PRICE could be lower but if i just spent the odd year making a pick it would be a lot more expensive than his, on the other hand I could not look at a lock and say i know just the pick to make for that lock and go make it im not an engineer, nor would i copy a pick for the simple reason once purchased you have a quality pick for many years use, the other side of this is if you start copying picks and the designers like Mr falle stop making them i dont see anybody else prepared to sell or make quality tools everybody loses.
