Schlage B260 series

Postby salzi684 » 1 Dec 2003 18:52

I finally decided that I would like to learn how to pick locks that have high security pins so I went out and bought a Schlage deadbolt that is in the B260 series. Here is a link http://consumer.schlage.com/main/prodcat/pdf/B260.pdf
The problem is that it has four spool pins and I need to start with 1 spool pin and the rest normal pins. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me where to get some normal pins and some springs for it so that I can re-key it to a bunch of different configurations. Any help will be appreciated.

If you have the tools to rekey locks, simply get yourself an old pin tumbler house lock, tear it apart, and dump out the pins...you'll find that both the top pins and springs will work. :) Actually the bottom ones will work as well if you want to make different combos...you're other option is to buy some from a locksmith.

A locksmith would sell them to me if I just went in there and asked?

If you ask for used ones, you might get 'em for free...Tell him you'd like to use the pins for an art project or something...hehehe...
