Ebay just cancelled my bid and withdrew the item because it violates one or more of their policies. What was the item? It was a 12 volt key cutting machine. Unless the seller was kicked off, I do not see what possible violations there could be. I mean it was clearly pictured, the item was named and the starting bid was reasonable. Darn ebay! This is the 3rd time in as many weeks I have had a bid cancelled because they withdrew the ad because of violations.

Offer to the seller to buy the item outside of eBay. Lockpicking and most locksmithing tools are strictly forbidden on eBay. Myself being a powerseller, I know this well. Using buy it now usually gets these items sold, however.

Good luck!

Considering their policy, its kinda comical what *does* go through, however. Recently I saw a complete safe technician starter kit with tons of books (manipulation, drill points, the whole works) and a practice lock. After that there was a Lockmaster clamshell key casting kit. It's kinda like they don't sell pistols, but bazookas, that's OK.

By the way, right now, someone is selling the National Locksmith Guide to Manipulation (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=378&item=4524592078&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW)
its THE starter book to have on safe manipulation (IMHO).

I know what you mean grudge... i see that stuff happen alot. I see so many things on eBay for locksmithing that shouldn't be allowed, yet they completely ignore that stuff and worry about the little things like lockpicks and key machines.

Ebay is a weird world full of sad people ( except us  )

They will always be mysterious.

What really gets me is the Ebay addicts who bid crazily for every little thing they can get their hands on...

i do that skold... i get to bidding and bid and bid and bid... then i start looking for similar items and bid and bid and bid... and watch and search for better deals and...

finally i win or lose all my auctions and force myself not to browse the site for awhile.

When you like 'weird' or hard to get stuff, there is nothing like EBay. And YES, there should be a Surgeon General's warning that it may be addictive...

Hey skold if you develop those patches put them on Ebay so I can bid on them
