Alan thankyou for the welcome and kind words. I love this trade and, whilst I don't expect to be working as an full time safe engineer again,
I do look forward to sharing info and, if nothing else, 'feeling' part of it again.

Your saying you left the trade to take care of your son reminded me of what I heard said when our 'attorney general' a guy by the name of ashcroft retired recently, "to spend more time spying on his family."!!

Welcome aboard Tom. You sound as though you will be an extremely useful addition to the board and, hopefully, you will not be shy to contribute.
I was going to throw a Tom Jones, singing legend, pun in there but surely it's not unusual to hear such attempts at humour so, again, welcome...

I found this site looking at links from a certain site telling me about lock picking. I am working on a progect, no specifics, that requires me to pick a lock, or two. More like eight.
It is nothing major. I would appretiate if I get help from the pros on here. I'm a complete newbie. The only lock, hehe I'm pathetic, was a diary lock. -.-;;
Well, nice to meet you. And I thank you already for the information I have read!
(PS I'm not an idiot. You don't have to worry about me asking stupid annoyingly simple questions.)

I found this site while looking for a good motorcycle lock. I heard the rumors and saw the bic pen video a couple months ago, but I though it only applied to Kryptonite locks. Well, I just got my new Master Lock Street Cuffs today and I picked it in 20 seconds with a pen cap. I have ZERO picking experience and I couldn't believe it when I saw a $90 lock upen up like that!!
A google keyword search led me here and this is an awesome web resource. Thanks. I'm going to have to try hard not to waste a few years here.

Popped my first lock . A MasterLock No. 130, with a flattened turkey skewer and an allen key. Its hard going though, i have a feeling the tip is too broad, and the stem has a curve in it that prevents me from pushing it straight back into the keyway. I managed to pop it twice, but only after a few hours of in each session. Oh well, my first set of real picks (southord) are in some ups truck on its way to my house as we speak, so maybe ill have some more consistent success once they get here.
Id say 'great work' on the site, but it looks allot more like great fun. Keep it up, and apologies in advance for all of the silly questions ill be asking here in the near future .

Hello, I used to always think that pickings locks was a more of a "movie" thing. I find out that I couldn't be more wrong. Im really looking forward to starting out, already ordered the beginning picks the forums recommended. Great to find such a useful forum!

Hey Z:
You are gonna enjoy those picks. I just got mine yesterday and they are so nice as compared to the cheap junk I previously had.
