unable to reach website....

Postby Hyperion » 3 Feb 2005 18:33

Hey all :)

FOR 3 times now in the past oohhh say 5 hours, I have been unable to reach
the website/forums on 3 separate occasions..

It's weird, when it happens I try my connection, surf a few other web sites/pages, check my email and it all works fine, but I couldn't reach this site..

Any problems going on with the server or anything??

Regards Hyperion

I see the same thing from time to time. Sometimes LP101 just stops working for a few minutes or longer. Not just today (though I did see it today), but often in the past too.

I've never really commented on it because sometimes servers have to be reset or restarted.

In the worst case a server could be taken down by hackers or be subjected to a denial of service attack. In those cases the server administrator would surely know about it, so asking about it is needless.

Same problems happened to me a few times in the past week, with one long down period today. I just leave the site open in my browser (I use Firefox) and refresh it whenever I want to see if there are new posts. I couldn't refresh for about 15 minutes earlier today, as there was no response on LP101's end of things.

Hope its nothing serious =)

Those high user numbers is from that defacement worm attacking phpBB sites. No worries, we were patched before the stuff hit the fan.

...and if the site is down, it means Mr. Picks is working on the site. 8)
