Impressioning Tool

Does anybody know what this tool is used for? I was thinking it was a tubular impressioning tool. But I dont know.

Looking at the tip of the impressioning tool, I would say your estimate sounds reasonable. If I had to guess I'd also say tubular lock impressioning.
Lock picking is an art, not a means of entry.

That is for impresioning tubular locks (a tubular "pick" impressions the lock)

That looksl ike a handle that just tightens around the bow of a key blank for easier jiggling inside the lock.

This tool clamps the key in front and bounces it in the lock as the last member suggested. Sort of like an impressioning version of a pick gun...
