ok, well, i was fighit over something with a friend, and in my quest to win i threw down my backpack (forgetting about my graphing calculator, 3 energy drink cans and an mp3 player) and when my lock hit, it poped right open. note it was locked but no longer is.

any suggestions on correcting it? i need it for tomorrow.

Take any key for the lock, (get a duplicate if you only have one) and file the nub off the outside of the key. Insert, turn, problem solved.

i was thining that but the nearest locksmith is about 30 mins away and in down to only 1 key unless i find my spare

you see, Bell had this 'great' idea of making thier key handles out of plastic and i lose almost a key a year.

p.s.
im seriously thinking just giving up and doing it. i think i have to go that way tomorrow for other business so i might as well

Your lock is still completely usable with the modified key, perhaps a bit annoying, but still okay.

ya, i gave up and did it.

i tried other approaches but was foiled quicky. its still kinda funny that a lock i have been trusting to hold my bike (well, the lock might be worth more than the bike) all th sudden pops open from a 3 foot fall.

Yes; a classic bypass for some padlocks is to hit them just so with a hammer.
