hy ....my friends gave me this padlock to pick it ...dunno where he got it from ...(he didnt tell me ) but i cant seem to pick it ...although i doubt this can be a high priced secure padlock it seems to be HARD to pick ...especially the 2 and 3 pins which wont settle no matter what i do ...

on the net i didnt find any info on the brand MAGG or on the model ...its deffinately european as i live in europe....

CAN ANYONE FIND ANY INFO ON IT OR THE BRAND OR KNOW SOMETHING BOuT IT ??? TY FOR HELP ....here is how it looks like ...

Woops - somehow the keyhole shot didn't load on my first trip through.

Still, I'm going to stick to the idea that it's a pretty case for something fairly normal inside - the profile is pretty basic. Try using a pick from back to front - drop each pin slowly with a little tension - let each drop all the way - very little tension. Count the pins as you go. Do this many times.

After about a dozen rounds you should start to feel some detail. What you're looking for is how many times the pins 'catch' on the way down. Once is the shear line, more than once - over and over on the same pin - probably means spools or something.

Run a small pick along the bottom of the keyway to the back - that's the other place you'd probably find security features.

My experience with overseas padlocks is limited (read 'none'), but domestically speaking the more that has gone into the outside - brass glamour plates, textured finish - the less is going on inside. It really does look like a presentation piece.

..guess so ...my guess is also its a cheap shit but unlike other locks i picked so far.,.. also cheap ones...PINS DONT GET picked in any order....they really use the order ...the toughest first and than ....

so its annoyin cuz i am used to do it 1st to last not in some random order...

but ill try it as many times till i pick it ...the problem is i dont have tools (cool ones) originials ...so i use homemade ones which give me headaches

we get the same lock in our pound shops, i guess you have them in dollar stores, cheap and nasty made in japan.
so badly made that some you can shim and some not as burrs on the latch prevent some from shimming.

we have them under a number of names but more commonly as ross, i found the half diamond or full rake pops these with light tension, quite easily.

Mine don't.

Thats why I don't photograph them. My fingers look like they've been through the meat grinder... twice. I just use them a lot, and bite them when I'm alone.

The padlock is a cast iron padlock that was made in china.

It has 5 0r 6 pins, all of which have mushroom drivers.

If you have the brains or tools ( drill press and grinder ) you can make a scissor tool which draws back the locking dogs. if you put it in a vice you can do it with 2 hooks, but a scissor tool is a lot easier to use.

These locks have been known to open when dropped on a hard surface.

...ok ty ill try ...but other CHEAP stupid low security locks also have mushroom devices ?? cuz i thought only the better locks have em .... and for each pin ?? wtf?? i heard only 2 or 3rd or both ....6 pin lock hmmm ill do it TY
