So I found a Dremel in the basement and managed to forge a beast of monstrous ingenuity and true artistic elegance. The Vikset!

;) Thought you guys might get a kick out of my masterful mechanical technique. Thanks to Romstar for the pointers with this in a previous thread, by the way, though as you can probably tell I'm not good at following directions.

If you want to see both top and bottom pins, get a black metal cutting bit. They're thin and very easy to brake. Slowly lower the cutting bit to the plug and cut until your blade just barely touches the other side of the pin hole.

Hey, I figure, who cares, right? Frankly, I don't really want to see either the top OR the bottom pins -- I just want to see the shear line, which means I only need a tiny peek at where the cylinder and housing meet. I mean, I know what the rest of the pins do; they go up, and down, and up, and down...

I would like to note that the use of a vise is probably one of the best things for doing this to a lock.

I'm actually quite surprised that anyone has read the post about making a cut away lock recently. It's a fairly old post.

Well, you might be one of the few people who actually searched.

Do you know how many times I have reposted the article about pick types?
