Question bout these locks. I made a bet with soemone in my geography class that I could pick locks, and he said he didnt believe me. HE brought in a Viro lock made in Italy, and told me to pick it. I told him if I could pick it, could I keep it and he said yes. Now with only 50% of my attention on it during a noisy class, I managed to open it. Now that I have it at home, I cant seem to open the friggin lock. SInce its Italian, does this one have something idfferent then normal masterlocks? I mean, when I picked it in class, I had to let a pin drop after raking it with a half-diamond then manualyl push it up. So do these locks have any difference?

does anyone else have a Viro lock and can comform it? I mean, this padlock is small, and looks like something yuou would use for a luggage bag.

Somebody please answer me? I dont want to talk to myself. I jjust opened my viro lock with my brand new Snake pick, but again I think its luck. One thing I knotice is that when I turn the plug without my pick in, I hear a click, almost like a snapping noise, and then the plug turns its normal distance... Then when I release tension, I hear a click. Explination? For sure spool/shroom pins?

obviously the key to sucess is to stop concentrating so much, and just practice practice practice. (Oh yeah, and use less tension)
p.s. there are a zillion 'brands' of cheap-o luggage sized locks out there, I wouldn't hold my breath that anybody here has ever had there hands on that same lock. Chucklz was right, cheap lock manufacturers sometimes throw in a spool or muchroom driver or two to make up for their crappy construction. If you must know, use a dremel tool (wear eye protection) and find out what's inside.

from what you say, picks when you arent trying and dosent pick when you are, I gotta guess that you have the tension disease, get this, when you put a tensor in a lock and start to put pressure on it it brings the pins into contact with an immovible object, and once there, more pressure just causes more binding, the disalignment of the pin channels at the shearline, (called the step) cannot be made greater by force. Forget heavy tension and look for the right tension.
