Made some new picks (images)

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Here they are.

Made from hack saw blades on a bench grinder.
The handles are shrink tubing. Beats blisters...
:0)

Could do with some more emery'ing and a better camera though :0P

Excellent work. I don't see a snake though. Would I be right in assuming that would be a real pain in the a** to make on a grinder?

Yes. A dremel or file is pretty much required to make a decent snake.

Thanks guys.
They do a good job :0)

I am skeptical about the snake. I dont see how serrations on both sides of a pick can be any use... But all the same, I will make one today.

If, on a flat piece of metal, you have thin parts and thick parts, as evidenced by the W-rake made my Southord, you have higher likelihoods of the metal snapping at the thin parts. If you were to cut a snake so that it was an even width throughout the pick, it'd be less likely to snap. Basicly.

looks kinda think, and unless it is made out of some strong type of metal, i would exect it to break quickly.

And just my personal preff, but i love my snakes, both of my good ones(one of them is a HPC pick) are my fav pics, and i find them one of the most usefull picks. But it is your own personal preff, and differant people have differant styles that use differant picks better (AHHHH so much differant!!!!)
If it doesn't seem to make sence, take a minuite to look at who said it... do you still want to know?
