Got a myself an anoying lock (well, actually two of them)
and I have no idea how to pick them.
The brand is Kaba, and they has 3 rows of pins, one on either side, and one on the top.
How do I manipulate the pins on the sides?
none of the pics I have are small enough to reach, and if I made one small enough, I feel it would just snap..
got a picture of the whole lock, and the one that I took apart, also I've put up a picture of a key, not the actual key for that lock, but the same type.
(fixed links: (hopefully))

the pins that lay there are all the pins for the dismanteld lock, so there is not a pin in every "hole", and I guess that has something to do with masterkeys.

That is a dimple lock. On one of the H2K videos it shows how to foil impression those by using a key that is drilled out to the max cut depth on each dimple, then wrapped with aluminum foil tape.
For the purist, not exactly picking, but pretty cool in any case.

Three rows of pins? Kaba Gemini. Foil impressioning may not be the best way to go about these. Several members have picked these with some light raking, but the cylinder I own seems to be MACS'ed out, and I have had no real luck at all.

I've also heard that many members on this site have picked this with something called a "Matador pick". Look it up, its basically a pick that is wavy on the end, and allows you to pick the pins on either side of the lock.
I personally own a Kaba Gemini, but don't own any Matador Picks =( Looking forward to getting one soon.
Save a lock, pick a nose!

I've only encountered two of these locks, however the picks I found to be most useful for "raking" is the single and double ball picks. However, if you are unfortunate enough to be in Chucklz scenario then you must pick each pin individually, I bent a hairpin sideways in order to do this and found that if worked rather well. However, be careful when you pick it. If you pick it and turn it 90 degrees the pins and springs will fall into the cylinder. Just grind down a Kwikset key and after you pick it turn the cylinder only slightly, then insert the grinded key and then you can turn the rest of the way without the pins falling out. I hope this helped.
Lock picking is an art, not a means of entry.

iv tryed without sucess picking one of those locks before, I think I managed to get about 12 pins in it (after about 20min of straight picking) you need picks made for that kinda lock. what I used (and what was most effecive to use) is a pick like a half dimond, but instead of a dimond make a rectangle.
ok I dont know how much sence that actually made so im gonna try and find my old pick and post a pic of it in my next post. (key word in that is "try")
If it doesn't seem to make sence, take a minuite to look at who said it... do you still want to know?

Ok so I did find my "KABA pick" it is what I used, and it also is kinda crude, but hey it worked ok
you use the side of the pick to push the pins down

it did work, i just needed to refine the handle a bit and have a little more skill at picking the lock.

I may of set the pins but the end result does not define "working".

ok then, to releive the analretentiveness of skold here, i'd like to re-frase that then to -worked much better then anything else i tryed (witch included a half dimond, snake[2 diff ones] hook, feeler [yes i tryed] and some thing I created that I would have trouble decribing as a "lockpick")-
ok, is that better skold... any other flaws you wanna point out to the 101 community??
