heres the key, any ideas what it fits?!

Postby master in training » 18 Feb 2005 9:18

I collected keys when i was younger, I've had this one key for ages and wondered what kind of lock it fitted, but never had any idea and I've never seen another one even similar, I tried searching but I have no idea what its called so its not easy.

The only info I can give about it is that it was made in the UK, as around the edge it says "British made"

If anyone knows what it is/what its called/what lock it fits or anything about it all, please help!

P.S. Sorry for the bad quality pics, I dont have a digital camera. :(
(If you save the pic and zoom out a little bit, it may improve the image quality....I hope!!)

Sure, thats a key for what appears to be a warded padlock. Can't help you on the manufacturer though.

More likely to be a B&G looking again.
Warded, only the two prongs at the tip are needed.

There are 2 types of warded lock in this world, in this conversation people are getting warded (lever style) mixed up with warded (useless style)

I personally think it the useless warded lock..i could be wrong, but it's what i think.

Example of warded locks, useless style:

I didn't know they still make them.

It looks like the kind of key you get for a suitcase lock (useless warded style)
