Better yet, give your guests some paper clips and a screwdriver or piece of springly metal as a tension tool for them to pick with. Ought to take them a good long time, might want to set up a small bunk in the closet.

It's got to be pretty small to have no handle. Either that, or it's got a thin door, or some manner of keeping the key from coming out when it's unlocked (fairly common, in nearly every lock).

Don't let us turn you away from learning how to pick it. It's fairly easy to learn, but hard to master, and a safe wouldn't be the best starting lock. If you'd like to make a hobby or passtime of it (if you have any free time left, I imagine kids take up nearly all of it  ), you could learn.

If you just want to get it open, then get a locksmith to do it. Just to have it opened up, as others have said, it would take too much time (and money, for decent tools) to be very worthwhile. If you do decide to learn to open it yourself, it can be fun. It's a bit time consuming, but definetly worth it when you manage to open it up. Sort of like a puzzle, really.

Oh, and welcome to the boards. :)
