chris belcher or safe ventures

allo chaps if i dont need to cut a new key and only need to pick security or bs locks
which would be abetter buy the safe ventures picks or the chris belcher picks all i need to do is gian entry with as little damage as possible your advice would be apprciated :?:

Do a search, there's plenty on them both and other curtain picks. All have their advantages and disadvantages. The Safeventures is the most comfortable to use but will not pick locks with low levers, while the CB pocket pick will, etc. etc. etc... A lot of us end up with both!

thanx for the tip ive done the searchs on these pick but have not fonud any

one compareing the picks i mentioned of each other i recently took
a course in ndl picking and the bs picks course but at the time i never new about cb picks, in my work as a carpenter i have to gian access to local authority propertys so i suppose im being tight wad as the ch picks seem to be alot
cheeper i already have the safe venter curtian pick at the end of the day i just want to pick the lock dont care about makeing a new key and within resone how long i takes to pick, before i used to kick the door in if it had a mortice lock on it thanx any way.

i think it means hes got the sv pick , thinks the cb pick is alot, wants to pick locks but has booted doors in, correct me , but im sure i reviewed the picks on an earlier post.

safe ventures an cb picks work well as a pair , safeventures is easiest to use and cb pick picks the ldocks that safe ventures pick cannot.

all of the curtain picks ie , safeventures , chris belcher , jack coomber , and rb picks will all pick the bs3621 locks, though the chris belcher pick will pick almost all bs locks even those with low levers, the rest will pick alot of bs3621 locks, but not those with low levers , ie a number 7 lever and legge locks.

but none of these picks are a magic harry potter tool, all take alot of practice and alot of work, you will learn to defeat union bs quickly but some may take you months even years to master.

youve gone from kicking doors in to picking the locks, missing out drilling in between, great.

If you want to decode locks and make a working key from the pick then SV pin and cams and decoders are amoung the best in the buisness, if you are happy (as you say you are) in only picking open the locks then the CB picks are very well regarded, i use CB's picks but as pinky says they take a lot of practice (although you are half way there with already having the SV pick),

Before buying the range of CB picks start off buying the pocket curtain pick 5-5.5g this will cover a lot of locks and means you can get the feel for them without spending on all the picks to find out you cant get on with them,

Picks are a very user orintated tool, if the user likes them and can use them, then they are the best tools in the word, if they are the best tools in the world but the user can not use them very effectively then they are completely useless for that user,

If you try and get to one of the meets you should be able to talk to others face to face and perhaps have a go at the differant systems.

thanks for your responce its all taken onboard as i stated in my earlier post im a carpenter not a locksmith persay ,but took a course to save me the expense of replaceing the door/frame every time access is reqiured but whose to to say if when im an old git and tired of bracking my back at least ill have an other bow to my string. im impress with the comradery of the locksmith trade :wink:

You will find that regulars on here are passionate about locksmithing and lockpicking, and will help people who are seriously interested in pursuing this as either a hobby or trade. Please remember though, to search the forum first for answers before posting a question - or you will get burnt very quickly.

as misinformation he gave is totally wrong i understand that he is a moderator so he sould know better he stated that the chris belcher pick
picks all bs locks unfortunatley this is untrue i urge him to try and pick
the era viscount, legg5641,legg2645 these r just 4 that ive mentioned
mis information cost newbies money sort it out pnky

chazz i think you should learn to use this pick, i and many others on this forum have had no problems picking legge 5641/5642 , 1645 and 2645 , era viscount and profit ( which apart from h/p and colour are identical, i have even watched chris pick a 110 with this pick at the last mla show.

i am sorted out chazz , i pick all these locks with the cb pick as i know do a large number of members of this forum, unlike you obviously , maybe a fault of the user rather than the pick.

i think before you post such drivel in the future , you should first get your facts correct, i suggest you read over the posts on this pick by many of the members all picking the locks that you cannot, and dont refer to legge 2645 and era viscount as bs locks, as they are not bs locks.

being a mod doesnt come in to it, this is a fine tool that works, as stated before it takes alot of practice, i suggest you go back to the drawing board and learn how to use this tool, and try pm chris for advice as hes helped many on this site to come to grips with this tool.

no pick is easy to use, and just because you buy a pick, this does not mean that you will pick the lock, this now takes an understanding of the lock and the pick, read and pm chris, im sure you will be surprised at just how far from the truth your post actualy is, not a bad pick, just a user that cant use it yet, i suggest practice.

again another strange 1st post, but each to his own. maybe your next post will be an informed one rather than a foolish one, maybe it will be better for you to ask the members who are having a high degree of success with this pick to help you out , rather than rubbish a tool you obviously do not understand yet or know how to use. try a chat with , floater , chunk , to name just 2, but you will find many posts of success with this tool on the site.

practice and get the buzz , this tool will do it , but only if your up to the job.

Chris actually mentions on his site it can do the 110 with practice some im sure it can do a humble viscount too.

Chazz you really should look at all the posts before diving in head first as pinky says this tool is only limited by the users ability. I for one have seen pinky pick an invincible with a curtain pick plus quite a few other locks. Also there are quite a few other members on here who are gaining these abilities through constant practice.

Validate your argument it doesnt work and you will be taken more seriously, explain why it doesnt work, give us some proof.
The thing is we know it works and if it didnt it would get reported.
