Abus Buffo No. 62/40, but NOT a diskus lock?

Postby security_lock » 28 Feb 2005 10:35

I've just got an ABUS BUFFO no. 62/40 padlock.
I have searched the internet, but all Abus Buffo locks found there are diskus locks. My lock looks like a normal brass padlock. I've looked at www.abus.de but cannot find the lock there.
Is this a real ABUS or is it a fake?

Just like my Burg Wächter Magno, this lock can easily be opened by setting the last pin with my half diamond. While doing this I hold the pick slightly downward towards the front of the lock, thus automatically setting the other pins as well. Just too easy.............

They also produce "Buffo" euro cylinders and I'm sure that I've also seen some normal brass padlocks.

This Buffo name crap is very confusing: I've bought an euro cylinder recently where the package said "Ecoline". It also said "by Abus". The lock itself has "Buffo" engraved.
Doesn't make a product search easy.

Abus 65/50

Postby BrownDwarf » 9 Mar 2005 22:31

I have two Abus 65/50 brass locks that I picked up [used] in Central America a few years back. Both are easy to pick. They sound like brothers to yours, although I don't know whether mine are authentic Abus.
