Where could you compare the tension with?

It's taken me a while, but I'm getting better at it. Slowly but surely. I've still gotta say that the first time you pick any given lock is always the most exciting. I can consistently pick the Master Lock in under 4 minutes now. As a beginner, that's pretty good. If I keep at it, I hope to cut that time down--maybe in half--by next week.

Lets say you're setting up on the lock, you enter the tension tool into the keyway, and perchance a glittering fly lands on the end before your thumb does and says to you, 'lemme help!'. After a while there's no joy so he calls more insect friends to assist- two humping deer flies, a bumble bee, grasshoper... a crazy multicultural scene, man.

If this has happened to you, that tells me you are in the habit of dropping too often but the rule of insects is great for newbies just starting out. Tiny tolerances for cheapo locks and even tiner tolerances for the better ones.

many people will say put a tiny bit of pressure on the wrench but in my experience i have found that a little more pressure than wat most will say is best although to much pressure is just as bad as none. but that just me and i only have about 1 year of experience under my belt.

I agree to what you said katana. In my experience which is also limited.. i think that i may actually use too much pressure but i pop more locks in that way. But at the same time you are right will the too much being just as bad as none at all. the one place that i have noticed that hard pressure is bad though it with spool pins. That one caught me off gaurd and a little much was too much in this case.
