I've got a few of those that were hanging around my shed when I bought this place, I've allways just assumed it was a cheap warded lock and never bothered with it. The cheesy construction is a good indication of what's inside

yeah, they all look kind of cheap and not at all secure, just didnt want to hurt the feelings of whitehat with them on his briefcase, him being a mod and all
i think its likely that they're warded locks, i just want to find mine to pick it now
I've seen loads of locks like that too. They have a flat key with a deep cut lining up with the front of the lock allowing the key to turn when fully inserted. The cheap ones are probably warded, but some of them could be lever locks.
im trying really hard to remeber how mine lock worked, i cant find it anywhere, frmo how it felt when the key turned and how the shackle opened, i'd say it may even be a spring lock, the old style ones that rely on a strong spring, rather than features inside to keep it locked.
