Please read the FAQ section of this site. You will find it very informative and it will answer that very question as well as anyone could.

Ok well I checked out the faq section and learnt some more about lock picks. But I need some advice on which set I should buy. So far I have 3 sets that Im deciding which one to buy.

First is MPXS-11
http://www.lockpickshop.com/Merchant2/m ... ry_Code=LS

Second is PXS-14
http://www.lockpickshop.com/Merchant2/m ... ry_Code=LS

Third is PXP10
http://www.lockpicks.com/index.asp?Page ... ProdID=200

If anyone has bought from these sites or have these picks can you tell me how good they are. Also if you have any other sites that have better picks than thses can you please post them for me.

I have purchased from lockpickshop.com and was quite happy. In fact, I just placed another order in the last couple days. If you put LP101 in the coupon box at the checkout you will get 10% off any regular priced items.

FWIW, I have the PXS-17 and I am happy. I'm sure the 14 will do you just fine.

The Lockpick Shop is a great place to do buisness. I have purchased several items from them and they arrive in about a weeK (I am in the states). I like the quality of the pick sets I have gotten thru them (PX14) and the european equivileant.

get the 11 metal handle set.

I got the 14 metal handle set and i like the feel, i hear a lot of people don't like plastic. Also just to start you could just buy a tension wrench, half diamond, and that curved one... those are the only 3 things i really use out of it.

I'm hoping to atleast use half of the tools when i progress

hey, im pretty new to picking.

after the above advice, i managed to get a 14 piece set for $24 (about £15 here) which i think aint too bad!

i started off managing to pick a standard padlock with two paperclips, havent got it yet but its nearly there!! (i can hear the pins drop when i release the tension)

try try again!

May I recommend Southord products? I find their tools to be of excellent quality.

You bet JoR. Those are the ones a that we've been discussing (PXS14 and 17, for example). They are a nice product and a great set to start with.
