Well done bensod! Keep it up, and try using different picks to pick the same lock. If you used the hook, try the half diamond and vice versa. If you raked the lock, try single pin picking...and vice versa. Try another lock of the same brand, this should have quite a different bitting. The more variations you can use to pick, the better.

If you move on to something a little more difficult and end up struggling, come back to the #3 and use it as your confidence lock. Above all, try to relax...the muscle memory will only come with practice.

I just got my first padlock too. Master brand. 4 pins. Too much fun. Used the picks i made from pyros video. This will become an obsession, i'm sure.
Lock picking is like nose picking. It's usually best that people don't know that you enjoy it.

Just so you know, the #3 isn't the only one with a blue band.

The "contractor" grade locks have yellow bands, some of these appear to have security pins, but I have very little experience with this line. Some seem just as easy as a #3, some seem to be harder. I don't know if the line has changed over time, just throwing out what I can.

Awesome!!! Keep challengong yourself, and above all don't use your newfound ninja skills to make the cops mad.
