Im in, Im new, and Im interested. No picks yet, but I found a vid on here on how to make them and will this saturday. Havent picked any locks yet but Ive gotten a little experiance with some homemade tools. Looking forward to picking locks for fun and to make some extra money when my college buddys lock themselves out of their rooms. Again.
Only thing I seem to be able to pick is my nose

Almost There

Postby Cree » 3 Mar 2005 3:26

Hi all. I will be graduating Locksmith College with an advanced certified locksmith degree. I have about 4 weeks to go that will have given me 270 hours of training. A lot to remember but at 57 it is what I should have done at 23. I can not wait to get out there and find employment with a good company. I am going to try my best to live up to the standards of the locksmith community. What a nice site you all have here. Seems like a lot of support for a beginner like me. Glad to be here. Joe :D

Hello, newbie here

Postby naturallite7 » 3 Mar 2005 8:48

Hello, I am the "newest newbie". I watched some co- workers open some Master locks and now I have some picks and am tring to learn this hobby too. We make our "home made" master lock picks out of what I call "fish tape". Your electricians use it to pull wire. If you use this and you are handy with a bench grinder, you can make some really nice working picks. I am not good at picking yet, but it sure is fun to pass around the same lock between a few of us and see who opens it the fastest. I have always lost this so far. I hope to gain some ground on these guys soon. I love all the info here and look forward to when I can read "all" that is offered here.

bluntman etc:

1. Call a locksmith.
2. Clean your language if you want to stick around.
3. Read the forum rules.

To the rest who've recently joined. Welcome to the site. :)

Cree: We'd definitely be interested in reading a review of the program you are undergoing. Feel free to post in the General chat area and I'll make sure it's moved into the FAQ section for others to read as many are looking for quality programs to look into. Thanks. :)

newbie

Postby reventropy » 6 Mar 2005 2:08

I just signed up. I got a pick in the mail the other day. I picked my room lock (dorms), and the lock to a closet space. I seem to have messed up my lock a bit (I think I slightly bent the last pin by applting too much pressure), but it still works if I turn it right. I live on a campus so there are doors tempting me everywhere. I want to pick every lock to see to see if I can, and to see what's behind the door (I'm a curious soul), but I don't want to be accused of theft or anything. Torture I tell you.

Welcome raventropy! I hope you enjoy the site. You'll find a ton of great info here. Have a read through the FAQ section and you'll learn a ton. It's best you keep resisting the urge to pick locks you shouldn't. For some reason, you'll find most people pretty unaccepting of our hobby. ;)

Happy picking!

Uhh.. Yo. I kinda just stumbled upon the forums when I was looking for lockpicking vids. o_o

Seeing this topic here made me wanna sign up and introduce mahself. For some time now ive always been intrested in picking and whatnot but could never find the information or come up with the money for the tools to make it. I do have things in the garage to make em, but nothing to make them with, persay, so thats kinda kept me out of it. Also no info on how to make em.. but anyway!

One day I hope to become a PI long after I get the money to do so from Piloting. Infact this May im going to Tulsa to go to Spartan Academy of Aeronautics to get my licenses and degrees and whatnot.

Anyway, Hi. o_o
