Watch & learn week

Any locksmiths out there fancy an Apprentice for a week? obviously i would not want to be paid, but just pick up some experiance to start me off would be a great help to me. I will have a reasonable set of tools by the end of next week as i have sweet talked a friend of a friend locksmith into supplying tools to me. I am a highly experienced Carpenter of over 20 years so would not be too much of a liability i would hope.
I am in the Surrey area but would travel & possibly stay in an area for the week if it would help.

Sounds like it would be fun :-)
I ain't a locksmith ,just a builder, so i ain't any use to ya !
But you could come over to Dublin and cut a few roofs for me :-)
Them hip rafters always confuse the hell out of me :-(

Hope someone gives ya a go, and perhaps after you can write up your experience of the week for us all to read ....

Good luck !

Thanks Ranger, i would certainly write a bit for the forum if i had the chance.
Having been chippying for 25 years the hips are easy for me, i just need a point in the right direction for the locks now though.
I will be cutting a roof next week if you fancy a go

NO i do NOT thanks :-)
Spent an hour doin one cut on a hip roof today , the chippie left me with a bit to do before i can slab out :-(
If i get him i swear i will stick a jack rafter where the sun don't shine :-)

It's a pretty naturall thing for a chippie to go in to the lock end of things i think , you have probably fitted more locks than many locksmiths...

I can't tell how may locks i have fitted /fixed etc , and id never call myself a "locksmith", you have a great headstart..

Good luck :-)
